Getting started

Safely testing a dealership account

Super Admin can enter a dealership account to test permissions and reproduce a problem. This access should be used carefully because a real dealership contains operational and customer data.

In this guide Follow the steps below in order. You can return to this page at any time.
Super Admin can enter a dealership account to test permissions and reproduce a problem. This access should be used carefully because a real dealership contains operational and customer data.

Real customer dealerships

A real dealership must provide its support access code before Super Admin can enter. This keeps the customer in control of support access. Do not ask staff to send passwords.

Demo-content dealerships

Dealerships created through Demo / Sample Content can be opened without a support code because they contain generated records. Use these accounts for screenshots, training and feature demonstrations.

Choose the correct role

Select the linked admin, manager, staff, valeter or viewer account that matches the problem being tested. A page working for Super Admin does not prove that a dealership user has permission to use it.

While impersonating

The interface should clearly show that Super Admin is acting as another user. Avoid changing real jobs unless the dealership has requested it and the action is necessary to resolve the issue.

Finish the session

Use Stop Impersonation when testing is complete. Confirm that the Super Admin account has been restored before opening another dealership.
